Frequently Asked Questions
What does "per tournament" mean?
Each tournament you publish to S3 (making it live for volunteers and spectators) is one payment of $199. You can set up, configure, and test as many tournaments as you want for free — payment is only required when you're ready to go live.
How many divisions can I have in one tournament?
Unlimited. Mens, Womens, Mixed, Singles, Doubles — as many skill levels and formats as your event needs. All divisions are included in the single tournament fee.
Do I need internet at the venue?
No. Paper's LAN venue mode lets you run the entire tournament from your laptop's Wi-Fi hotspot. Tablets connect locally, and all data syncs to the cloud when you're back online.
How do volunteers use the tablet app?
Volunteers download the free Paper app on any Android tablet. They scan a QR code or enter your venue IP address, pick their assigned division, and start recording scores. No training needed — the interface walks them through each match.
What happens after the tournament?
Results stay live on paperpb.com permanently — players can look up their standings, match history, and bracket results anytime. You also get a downloadable Excel workbook with complete results for every division.
Can I run multiple tournaments?
Absolutely. Each tournament is $199. Many directors run monthly or quarterly events — each one is its own self-contained project with its own roster, divisions, and results page.
What if I need help on tournament day?
You WON'T. That's why we created Paper.
